Unemployment Appeal Letter

Unemployment Appeal LetterIntroduction

An unemployment appeal letter is written by an individual who wants a job. An appeal is basically a request wherein you ask the other person to help you in some way. A person who is looking for a job sends in this letter to companies, in the hope of finding a job that suits his requirements. The requirements of the sender shouldn’t be unrealistic. It should be a formal letter and the post for which you are applying should be mentioned.

This type of letter is usually written to companies but it can be directed to the state or district council for unemployment, as a last resort for employment assistance. A person sends in his plea to appoint him as an employee and usually attaches his resume or curriculum vitae so that the employer can get an idea of the applicant’s background. One shouldn’t sound desperate but he should keep check of the reply from the company.

Subject: Employment Appeal

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing you this letter in need to find suitable employment for myself. I am a single mother who has two schooling children, and I am in a need of a job to sustain our livelihood. I have had a work experience in the corporate world of being the Human Resource Manager in ABC Steel CO. before I got married. I have worked there for 3 years. I had to leave that job due to personal reasons but I have a Certificate of Appreciation given by them.

I appeal to your esteemed employment organization to place me in a suitable work environment, where I can provide financially for my children. Work that takes up the morning would be suitable as my kids would be in school, that time. I would need to be at home after 4pm to cater to their needs. I don’t want to sit back home and regret what I could have done and what I didn’t do. Any job that suits my requirements would do, as this is my first step towards being an independent woman.

Though I have not worked in a corporate environment for more than a decade because I was a full-time housewife after my marriage, I am willing to learn new things, adopt the developments, give my 100%, work with utmost sincerity and dedication. I enclose my resume for your consideration.

Thank you.

Yours Truly,

Anita Foster
