Thank You Letter to Employer, Sample & Format

Thank you letter to Employer

Introduction:

Having a positive working relationship with your co-workers and superiors is important to maintain a healthy, productive working atmosphere. It promotes a better understanding between colleagues and can have a positive impact on the overall performance of the department. Ensuring a smooth relationship with your boss is also paramount as it helps your prospects; if you have people in a position of authority who are on amicable terms, you are more likely to receive better pay or promotions than others. In such cases, when your boss looks out for you in a time of need or is influential in your promotion, it is important to express your thanks.

A thank you letter to an employer can be written anytime for expressing your gratitude to your boss. It is written to convey your appreciation to your employer who may have helped you out in some capacity. The letter must be brief and concise and must capture your gratitude for the help or support that you have been given.

Subject: Thank you

Dear Sir,

I am extremely grateful for your kind sympathy over the recent loss of my parents, both of whom were killed in an accident last month.

Losing your parents is never an easy thing to take in, especially if you were extremely close with them. I want to thank you so much for allowing me to take time off to grieve and to get my parents’ personal things together. Indeed, it was such a trauma for me as the accident was so unexpected. I just spoke with them before Christmas. I was to go home for Christmas, and now I have to be content with the fact that I will never see them again. It has been a traumatic couple of months in all honesty and being surrounded by my family has certainly helped in coping with the grief. Thank you for being so understanding over my losses; I am still grieving, but with my siblings, I have put most of my parents’ personal matters into order.

I shall be returning to work on DD/MM/YYYY, when I can confirm the bus schedule.

Your support during my time of bereavement with a generous donation from the company is truly appreciated, and I hope that I can make it up to you in some capacity in the future.

Yours sincerely,

Gina
