Subject: Thank You for support.
With this letter, I wish to express my sincerest gratitude for your generous assistance to my university tuition fee and would like to take the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Gilbert C. Alfaro, and I am twenty-one years old now. About four years ago I lost my father. My dad served in the San Francisco Police Department. While on patrol, at night, he was beaten up by some unknown culprit and left to die. His life was spared by a miracle, but he lost the use of his leg. This left our previously happy family in a state of awe and shock. Our financial conditioned got worse as my mother could not work because of her arthritis and I was still in high school.
I grew up in Berkeley, a city 20 Km. from San Francisco, I completed my High School with highest honors. These days I am a 3rd-year student at the State University. I am currently studying for an M.D. at the faculty of medicine with the cumulative score of eighty-two. Also, I’m a “Legal Guide,” a Project of the Faculty of Medicine at The State University in which we demonstrate and hold talk sessions with new and aspiring students who wish to be physicians, explaining them the working of the medical field.
Today, studying at the University, I am trying to overcome the tragedy and support my family both emotionally and financially. It was possible because of your generous support of paying the university tuition fees which helped me to keep on with my life and gave me hope to look forward. I am truly grateful for that.
Gilbert C. Alfaro.
