Teachers Goodbye Letter, Sample & Format
Saying goodbye is never an easy thing, given the nature of human relationship. Saying farewell to a person or persons with whom you are genuinely well acquainted and interact on a regular basis will always be a trying experience given that we as humans are a social species who form bonds with those we interact with. This isn’t any less significant, and arguably more so in the case of the relationship between a teacher and the students. Teachers play a very significant role in the lives of students, second only to the parents in terms of overall influence and play a crucial role in the all-round development of the students.
A letter in which a teacher tells his/her pupils of their impending departure must be semi-formal, providing a final word to guide them. It must provide closure to her students, briefly explaining the circumstances of the departure. The letter must end on a positive note, encouraging the students, giving them advice as well as any contact details should they feel the need to ask something or in general, keep in touch.
The following is a sample of a Teacher’s Goodbye Letter.
Fairybrook High School,
Date: 11th April 2017
34 Bleek Streat
Subject: Farewell Letter
I apologize that I couldn’t meet you all in person due to the lack of time from my end, but I hope that I can sufficiently explain myself through this letter.
Effective from the easter break, I will no longer be a teacher at Fairybrook High, as I’m moving to a new city to pursue my doctorate. It was a difficult decision for me to pursue take this step, and I hope you all will understand in due time. Teaching has always been something that I have looked forward to, as I love interacting with children and working with them gives me a satisfaction that very few things could ever hope to provide. In this regard, I was truly blessed given that I was able to interact with such bright and inquisitive young minds such as yourself, which kept me on my feet at all times and ultimately what inspired me to pursue a doctorate. To all of you, I hope that you work hard and achieve what is already in your grasp and my only advice to you all is to never lose hope, regardless of any failure that you may encounter.
If you ever wish to contact me, you can call me on my cellphone number which is 245 432 9843 or keep in touch via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I genuinely hope our paths cross again someday and I wish you all the very best for your future.
