Sympathy Letter for Loss of Wife, Sample & Format

Introduction

Losing a loved one who means a lot to you is one of the most difficult things to deal with in life. And when that person is your soul mate, it becomes even harder. He/she is not only the love of your life but so much more than that. They share the role of a best friend, guide, confidant and so on. When you lose your spouse, your world comes crashing down.

Therefore when someone loses his/her wife, the person should be treated with utmost sympathy and care. A sympathy letter is the least you can do to show the person that you are there for them. It is a difficult time for the two, and he/she must be treated sensitively. Show them through your words and actions how much they mean to you, that you love them and are there for them in every way possible. Send them well wishes to show your support. Do mention some good memories you have shared together and what a wonderful person the deceased was.

Subject: Sympathy Letter

Dear Rohit,

I heard about Rhea’s demise only last night. It is hard to believe that she is no longer with us. She may have succumbed to cancer, but nothing will deny the fact that she was a true warrior at heart. She fought the disease for 13 years and beat it twice. Towards the end, it did become extremely hard for her, and I am just glad she does not have to endure the pain and suffering anymore.

Remember the picnic our families took to Aravali hills two years ago? She was such a sport. She climbed the entire way with such ease! And remember how funny it was when she pushed us both into the waterfall? She truly was a vibrant person and the life of every party. She was such a happy and energetic person – her enthusiasm was contagious.

Rohit, I need you to remember that she loved you and the kids from the bottom of her heart. I know it is a tough time for you and your family, but I want you to know that I am there for you in every way possible. I shall come over next week to take you out for lunch. Some fresh air will do you good. Sarita will come over tomorrow to pick the kids up. They can spend the week with us. Spending time with our children will hopefully help divert their mind. And of course, Sarita will be handling their academics in the months to come. Whatever it is that you need my friend, ask me.

Rhea may not physically be with us, but she will always be with us in spirit. I know she is looking down and smiling upon us. Call me if you need anything, We are all there for you.

Take Care.

Yours Sincerely,

Akhil Sharma
