School Leave Letter

School Leave Letter

When a Student has to take leave from school for any particular number of days, it is always advised to let the School authorities know about it along with a valid reason for the leave. This can be done through a School Leave Letter which is usually written on behalf of the Student by their Parents or Guardians, mentioning about the leave as well as the number of days.

The letter must be kept brief and formal, mentioning all the necessary details about the student like their name, Roll Call Number, Class, and Section, etc. The letter is usually addressed to the Principal of the School who is usually responsible for making sure that all students are regular in attending their classes. The Parent or the Guardian must mention the reason for which the Student would not be able to attend school and the number of days for which they would be absent.

Subject: School Leave

I, Emily Gulley, parent of Wilma Gulley (Admission Number: 2008/0163), a grade 3 student at Holden High School, wish to inform you that my daughter will be absent from school from DD/MM/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY.

Miss Gulley would not be able to attend school as the whole family would be away that week for an overseas trip to Australia. It is a last minute trip that has to be made due to some unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. As such, I apologize that my daughter, Wilma Gulley, will not be present in school for those days and I request you to pardon her. She would rejoin school on DD/MM/YYYY, as soon as we come back from our overseas trip.

I would appreciate it if you could inform Wilma’s teachers of her absence and to assist her in the necessary school work before she goes off. She will work on her assignments and projects where possible if necessary. I have already given my necessary contact details to Wilma’s Class Teacher in case there is any important assignment work that Wilma would have to complete and would highly appreciate it any announcements related to school work can be emailed to me on the given details that I have already left with my daughter’s Class Teacher.

Thank you for your kind understanding and assistance.

Yours Sincerely,

Emily Gulley
