Scholarship Thank You Letter

A Scholarship Thank You letter is a courteous response to the Scholarship Awards Committee for approving a scholarship to the successful applicant. The successful scholarship recipient can write a thank you letter in appreciation of being chosen to receive a scholarship from the Scholarship Awards Committee. This action reflects well on the scholarship recipient and shows their gratitude towards the institution and their interest and willingness to work towards excellence in their chosen field of study.

Such a letter should be formal, polite and reflect the sender’s gratitude. It should be completely free of grammatical, structural and spelling errors. Make sure to begin the letter by appreciating the institution’s decision to provide you with the scholarship. Dear Sir/Madam,

RE: Scholarship Acceptance

Kindly accept this letter of gratitude and allow me to express my deepest gratitude on account of the Scholarship Awards Committee of this prestigious University conceding to grant me the Emerson Scholarship to proceed with my studies this fall. I can’t begin to tell you how overjoyed I was on accepting your grant offer a week ago. I am relieved on the point that I don’t need to stress over settling my fall educational cost charges. I can focus on my research and reviews. I thank you from my heart for your kind thought of my grant application, and I guarantee you that I will put this grant to good use. My folks are delighted and rather relieved that a money related obstacle has been overcome and they will now be able to manage matters at home better.

I promise to put in my best efforts in class and to try my level best to learn all that is taught and clear all doubts that may remain to put forward a good performance that would make my university proud. I also want to assure you that I will do my best to deserve scholarship that has so kindly been bestowed upon me. I am forever in debt of this institution and shall endeavor to repay this kind debt.

Thank you for your kind consideration for awarding me this scholarship.

Yours sincerely,

Andrea Jones
