Retirement Announcement Letter

For an individual to have worked at a particular organization, there is a certain retirement age set by the organization by which the concerned person is expected to retire by. When the time comes, the person must make a formal announcement to the entire organization stating that he or she will be retiring soon.

Such an announcement is made approximately a month or two before the retirement date. This may vary from company to company. Such a letter can take either a formal or an informal tone where the person informs everyone that they will be retiring soon. The aim is to share whatever the person has learned in their time with the organization and how every person has contributed towards the growth of the individual in their unique way. Respected One and All,

As you are all aware (it is hard to miss with my graying hair) that I will soon be turning 60. An old man, yes I am aware. And according to the company policy but against my wishes, I will be retiring soon. So this is my attempt to officially announce it to everybody.

I have served the company for the past 15 years, and I must admit, the company has contributed more to me than I have to the company in all these years. Every one of you is responsible for shaping the person I stand as today, and I must admit, I will miss all of you very dearly.

Not a day passes by when I think I am coming to work. Feels like I wake up every morning to meet my family. The times shared and the memories made will be cherished by me for years to come. I could not have asked for a better company, work environment or colleagues. You have truly made my years memorable, for which I will be eternally grateful.

To commemorate this, I would like to invite you all to my house for a small farewell dinner on the DD/MM/YYYY. I would also be coming to each of you personally to thank you for all that you have done for me.

I will always be available for whoever needs me for whatever.

Yours dearly,

Collins Mathews
