Resignation Thank you Letter


A resignation thank you letter is a resignation letter given by an employee to the management, informing the latter of his desire to resign from the company. The letter also records a note of thanks to the management and his superiors and colleagues for the support and cooperation extended to him during the term of work in thecompany. The reason for resignation can range from having received a better offer to something as personal as an illness.

However, no matter what the reason, it is better to structure the letter neatly into three paragraphs: the introduction, the main body, and a conclusion. In the introduction part, state the purpose of your letter. Go on to elaborate on this in the next paragraph, by stating the reason for your resignation. You can conclude the letter by thanking the company and your colleagues for having been present with you in all your endeavours.

Subject: Resignation letter.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from the position of Administrator at Parkway Enterprise, with effect from March 10, 2017, giving a month’s notice as stipulated in my employment contract. However, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the company for the role it has played in making me a better Professional

It is regretful for me to make this decision but I feel that it is time for me to move on with my career. I wish to record my sincere thanks to you and my esteemed colleagues for the strong support and cooperation extended to me while I was with Parkway Enterprise. I know my decision seems rather sudden, but believe it was the result of a long and arduous turbulence within myself. You see, I had started here with certain targets for myself, which had gone unfulfilled as my priorities got clouded. Hence I have decided that it is time to take a detour in my life and try catching up on certain things that had gotten ignored along the way.

I shall finish up on any outstanding tasks before I leave and pass my responsibilities to my successor.
