Introduction:

In certain cases when you buy a product or service from a company, the performance may be unsatisfactory, and you may want to request a refund owing to the fault. The product could be different from the one that was advertised, is malfunctioning or is unsatisfactory in its performance. Regardless of the reason, if you’re unsatisfied with the product, you are obligated to inform the company from which you purchased the product about of the issue within a specified duration of time, asking them for a refund of what was paid.

While calling the customer service directly is a common practice, you can alternatively send a letter directly to the management, informing them of the issue. The letter must be formal and maintain a tone of politeness. The contents must specify the date of the purchase as well as the receipt no, along with a brief description of what is wrong with the product. One must stick to the facts while writing this letter as false facts and exaggeration could go against you.

Dear Sir/Maam,

I would like to ask for a refund on the LED TV, and home theater set that I purchased from your store on the 9th of March, given the issues I am facing with it.

I bought an XYZ LED TV and home theater set on the suggestions of your staff when I came in looking for one, as I moved into a new home. While the delivery and set up by your employees was fantastic, upon switching on the system I began to notice something was awry. The home theater system which was installed was different than the one I had purchased, and the TV set was malfunctioning with hues and red noise towards the edges of the screen. I am deeply disappointed with the turn of events given that I have purchased electronics from your store before this and have never come across this issue before. I still have all the necessary receipts and warranty which I received upon purchasing the items. As I am aware of your quality and standards with my previous dealings with your store, I don’t wish to take any legal action whatsoever. However, I would like to request you that I am refunded in full for the entirety of the purchase at the earliest. I would also like to request you to send your personnel to dismantle and take back the appliances.
