Dear Sir,

I write this letter to request you to postpone the submission day of my project. I know I have been working on it for quite some time but due to some unavoidable circumstances at home, I need some more time.

As you know I stay alone here in Delhi and my family is based in Mumbai. This time due to heavy rains back home our house there has suffered major damage . Our property requires urgent repairs, and my parents are not able to handle all this on their own. I need to be there with them in their need of the hour. Because of these reasons, I will not be able to submit the project on DD/MM/YYYY. I kindly request you to give me time till DD/MM/YYYY.

I have always been a sincere and hardworking employee of your company, and I’ll make sure that this is the first and last time I am making such a request. Please postpone my submission date.  I will be very thankful to you.

I hope you will understand my problem and grant me the required time. I am also very sorry for the inconvenience caused and promise to make up for it through extra work.

Thanking you

yours sincerely
