Reference Letter From Neighbour

Introduction :

A neighbor is a person who, after our family, neighbors know us the best. Neighbors help each other during times of need. One such need may be reference letters as such letters written by family members have little to no value. When a person applies for a new job, passport or any other such necessary documents, they require a reference letter from someone who has known that person for some time. The best people to get such a reference from would be one’s neighbors as they live in close quarters with the person requiring the letter.

The neighbor writing the letter should try to portray the person in a positive light as far as possible. This letter portrays the truth as by writing the letter the neighbor is giving a personal guarantee. It is usually suggested to mention the number of years one has known the person they are writing a reference letter for. The tone of the letter should be polite, formal and to the point.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this letter as a reference for Mr. Jean P. Thomas, flat number 6C, X Y Z Colony, 1980 Nest Street Saint Louis, with the purpose of providing a character certificate to him for his new job.

I have known Mr. Thomas for the past decade and can certify that he is a law-abiding and peaceful person. He has caused no problems to other colony members or me in the past decade that he has lived here. He is a sound minded and principled man who has always been on the right side of the law.
