Reconsideration Letter, Sample & Format

Introduction

A reconsideration letter is a letter written to request the reader a reconsideration of an earlier decision made by the reader. The review letter should be compelling in its contents with appealing reasons to change the reader’s mind and hence should be written in an efficient manner but with gentleness. It often happens that people make hasty decisions. However, they might not always be right. So, if you have a problem with it, you can write to that person a reconsideration letter asking them to reconsider the decision they had made.

A reconsideration letter may be formal or an informal letter and is written to the receiver by the sender to reconsider their earlier decision. It has to be written gently and professionally. Being rude or strict never helps in any situation. Once through the letter, you have to make sure that there are no grammatical errors in the letter

Dear David

Subject: Reconsider your Resignation

I am writing this letter to request you to review your intention to resign as Store Assistant at Grover Precision Industry.

You have shown yourself to be an exemplary employee for the past two years and have had a lot of opportunities to exhibit your skills and knowledge on the company’s products and policies. I have received a lot of favorable comments on your helpful services from your colleagues as well as from our customers.

As such, I would like to consider you for a possible promotion to Store Manager at the next appraisal. I hope that you will reconsider leaving Grover Precision as there are more opportunities for you to grow yourself and your career with Grover’s. Employees like you are a gem to the company, and I am greedy wanting to keep you with us. You are on that ladder of your career that you still have many unexplored opportunities which you can explore with us, given you stay here.

Please feel free to come in for a discussion with me on how to plan your career path with Grover Precision, if you decide to stay. However, if you wish to go, I would like to wish you best of luck for your future.

Thanking You

Yours sincerely,

Christopher Joey
