Personal Invitation Letter, Sample & Format

Introduction

In both your personal and professional lives, you will have to send out invitations to any given event many times. They might be to business conferences, seminars, auctions, birthday parties, Christmas parties, weddings, reunions, etc. The receivers might vary from family to friends and from colleagues to your boss or even to organization. Whoever the receiver is or whatever the event is, an invitation must always be made in a polite manner. Personal Invitation Letters are such letters that are used to invite someone personally to an event you organized.

The style and level of formality of the Personal Invitation Letter depend upon the relationship shared by the sender and the receiver as well as the occasion that you are inviting him/her/them to. Such personal invitation letters do a great deal in improving the relationship between the sender and the receiver as such a printed out invitation shows that he/she/they matter to the sender. Thus, an invitation letter written in the correct style can be very helpful.

Subject: Invitation to the Christmas party

Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing this letter to invite you to the Christmas party to be held at my place around midnight on Christmas Eve. I have invited some people from work, and most of my family will be there too. It is not a huge party, but I think it is going to be a good, fun party. Please do come along with Mrs.Smith and your children.

It has been a long time since our families spent Christmas together. My husband, Steve will be there, and my kids will be present too. Eve and her husband decided to spend the holiday with Chris and us. I promise you that coming to the party will be worth your time. It will be just like the old days’ sake.

You might remember my brother Zack. He used to be on the baseball team with you. He is coming as well.  So are many of our friends from college, including Mark, Tina, Mia, Colin, Carrie and their families. I have planned a snowball fight as well as some similar things and dinner is to follow. I do hope that you will come. Don’t forget to bring your family along.

I have missed celebrating Christmas like we used to. Hopefully, this year’s party will make up for all these lost years. I look forward to seeing you at the party.

Yours Sincerely,

Emma Carania
