Love Letter Writing
Love is a beautiful thing that opens us to so many new emotions that we didn’t think we were capable of. It sends shivers down our spine, butterflies in our stomach and gives us a euphoria which contradicts that it’s just chemistry in the end. When you’re in love, you always have the urge to express it to your partner and make them feel wanted, and from there comes a practice from time immemorial, the Love Letter.
A Love Letter is simple, yet quite complex. You want to express your love and feelings for your crush or partner, yet have to capture every single, relevant detail in the space of a few words. What a person chooses to express depends on the individual, but there are few things a love letter always contains, which is an expression of how much you love them and
The following is a sample of a Love Letter.
I haven’t had the courage to express my true emotions to you, but I’ve been madly in love with you ever since our eyes first met on the first day of school.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve fantasized about being close to you, locking you in a tender embrace, gazing into your twinkling eyes and caressing your silky hair. I’m not a very sociable person, so I’ve never tried to strike up a conversation with you, and it is quite difficult given that you are always surrounded by your posse of girlfriends and other boys who revolve around you, hoping to gain your attention.
I’ve been content admiring you from a distance, waiting for a chance to speak to you and being euphoric for days when you talked to me, even if it was just for a couple of seconds. Expressing my emotions has never been my strongest suit, but since it is that time of the year, and we’re about to enter our last year of school, I’ve finally gathered enough courage to tell you all of this. I don’t think I’d ever get an opportunity to speak to you in person since you are always surrounded so I wrote this letter, hoping I could express my emotions more openly.
I can understand if you don’t reciprocate my feelings and I will not hold it against you. However, if you want to give me a chance, then meet me in the school amphitheater at 1 PM before school ends. If you don’t show up, I’ll understand.
