Letter of intent for a job

Introduction

A letter of intent for a job is a letter written to a potential employer stating your intention or reason for seeking for a particular job in a particular company. It can also be used to enquire for any job openings or vacancies in a company by the job seeker. The letter states the intent of seeking employment with details of qualifications and experience (or your resume) which may be appropriate to the post applied for.

The letter is strictly a Professional letter and should follow a formal style and tone. The letter should not be very long as the employer may not have enough time to go through the entire length of the letter. Be brief, clear and to the point. The letter is very vital as far as one’s career is concerned, so it crucial that the letter is well written to impress the recipient for a favorable response.

Subject: Inquiry on Internship opportunity

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to enquire if there is any internship opportunity available in your esteemed organization which might be suitable for me. I am currently doing my Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering program( final year) at the University of Kansas.

As required by the program, the final year Engineering students are to seek a part-time employment or internship for two months to supplement their studies with some field work. I believe your esteemed company would be suitable to offer me an internship to fulfill my academic obligations. I am sure I will get to learn a lot of things through the internship which I will never get to learn in a classroom environment.

I am a hardworking student and also a fast learner. I enjoy electronics, and I have some electrical wiring skills which I have picked up from other field works in the past. I also hope I would be able to contribute effectively, in ways I could, to your organization.

I have attached my resume and transcripts for your kind consideration on my internship request. I kindly request you to go through it. I look forward to a favorable response from your side. For any further clarification or information,  you can contact me at 00-xxxx-xxx-xxx or drop me a mail at christophermyers@gmail.com.

Thanking You,

Yours truly,

Christopher Myers
