Letter Of Dismissal
A letter of dismissal as the name suggests is usually written to dismiss an individual. The letter of dismissal is usually written by the management of an organisation and is sent to a particular individual working for the organisation. Its purpose is to inform the receiver that his period of employment has now come to a conclusion. It must explicitly state the reason/s for the termination of the contract and state the date or time period the person has before he must leave the organisation.
The letter of dismissal must be formal and to the point. It must take into account the events preceding to the dismissal and lay them out in a clear and concise manner. The incident/ reason must be referred to along with a reference to the previously agreed upon contract and state the date by which the employee must leave the organisation. Although it is not necessary, it would be in good spirit if it stated regret at the circumstances and wished the intended person the best of luck in his future endeavours.

Subject – Letter of Dismissal
Dear Mr Rajvir,
It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that we have decided to relieve you of your duties. As a marker of your dipping performance over the last couple of months, increasing number of leaves applied and an excessively relaxed attitude towards work, we find ourselves with no choice but to put an end to our agreement. Your performance has not been up to standard and we have encountered significant losses, both in profit and time as a result. I’m afraid this cannot be allowed to continue.
As per article number 16, subsection b, in our agreement dated 1 January 2019, underperformance for extended periods of time and excessive absences are valid, non-questionable reasons for termination of Employment.
Your last day of work is 31st April 2020, and the Admin will work with you over the next couple of weeks to clear your dues. All company related property must be handed over to the Admin. Please ensure that you clear your desk as well as your belongings by the specified date.
You have been a great servant of our organization and a vital lynchpin in our rapid and sustained growth over the last year and we will always value and hold your contribution in high regard. I regret the recent turn of events and I hope that this is a learning curve that finds you well in your future endeavours.
