Job Promotion Request Letter

A job promotion request letter is a request letter written by an employee to his/ her superior or the person responsible for promotions in the organization. It is a formal letter, so make sure that the tone of the letter is polite and respectful. Keep the letter to the point and check for any type of errors.  Be sure to tell the receiver why you deserve a promotion and enumerate your achievements to make your case. Keep in mind that it is supposed to look like a request and not like a demand.

Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances, a person may not be able to get a long deserving promotion. In such a case, one may write a letter to request the same to his/ her boss or anyone in command over it. Be eloquent in your letter and do not in any way show disrespect the receiver for that may dampen your chances of a promotion.

Subject: Request for job promotion

Respected Sir,

This is Ashley Wilkes. I am a door to door salesman of Clothes Over Bros in Atlanta. I have been working for Clothes Over bros for the past 5 years as a door to door salesman. I am writing you to request you for a job promotion which I feel is long due.

My sales record is impeccable. For the past 2 years, I have been receiving the award of the “The Best Salesman of the year”. My sales are the highest of all the salesman in the whole Georgia. A lot of employees who joined after me have been promoted but the exception of me. I won’t speculate the reason for that.

I feel that now having gained the ground experience I am well versed with the ground reality and I feel I could make a difference and benefit the company with a higher position in the organization’s hierarchy. Since I am born and raised in Atlanta, I know very well about the culture, people and their habits which could be a real tool in increasing our sales and making some organizational decision.

I hope I am not being too forward in requesting you for a promotion. But I hope you will look into it. I shall be highly obliged to you and if the decision is in my favor I will make sure not to disappoint you.

Thanking You.

Yours Sincerely,

Ashley Wilkes
