I m sorry letter

Introduction

‘I am sorry’ letter is a letter written to express your apologies to the one whom you have offended or caused wrong too. It can be written by any individual to another with the objective of correcting the wrong to restore the relationship between the two. It is a good option if it is difficult for a face-to-face interaction. It is an informal letter written by someone whom you know personally and have wronged.

Sorry is usually said to apologize to someone when you have done something wrong and promise to never ever repeat the mistake.  While writing the letter, show remorse and how you truly understand the mistake you have committed and you will never repeat it. Be polite and humble and make genuine efforts to placate the receiver. Lay down your side of the story and go on to say where you went wrong. Don’t say anything to incite the receiver’s wrath again.

Subject: I am sorry

Dear Megan,

Please allow me to say ‘I am sorry’! Truly, I am. After you had left my house that day after the dinner I found my pearl earrings. They were in my leather jacket pocket. I had completely forgotten that I had put them at that place to wear with my favorite jacket for a dinner function next week.

I am sorry for accusing you of taking my earrings without my permission. It was wrong of me and the accusation was totally unjustified. You were my invited guest and a good friend. I should have taken the time to check thoroughly or given you the benefit of doubt as we have known each other for such a long time- 8 good years. But at the agitated moment, I was worried about losing my grandmother’s inheritance to me and I couldn’t keep myself in control. You know how impulsive I am. I lost control and committed a mistake by accusing you. I should not have jumped to the wrong conclusion just because I lent them to you once.

I am horrified beyond measure. I apologize to you once again and I hope you will find it in yourself to forgive me. Please accept my sincere apologies. Can we be friends again?

Hoping to hear from you.

Your Loving Friend,

Lisa
