Dear Mom and Dad,
It is the time of holidays again, and I am sorry that I won’t be able to make it to Thanksgiving when the whole family’s get together is planned. But I promise to come for a short stay after two weeks. I don’t say it often, but now that it has been two years away from home, I appreciate all that you both did for me and are still doing.
Right since preschool, I remember you both would make an effort to attend all my parent-teacher meetings, my sports day and all the annual functions. During holidays, you would call the entire family and organize fun games and lessons so that we could spend time with our cousins. During summer holidays how you both made it a point to take us for a holiday to a beach and mountains alternately. Those trips were the best geography lessons I could ever have. I remember when I was leaving for college, you both told me that no matter what we are always there ready to support you. Those words hold me strong even in my weakest moments.
I also want to thank you for the holiday present, the Kindle, that I received today. Thank you for being the most amazing set ever. Cannot wait to come home.
Love and regards,
