Holiday Business Letter

A holiday business letter is written by the boss to his/her employee. This kind of letter is divided into two parts. The first part being where the boss wants to send him/her away from their office for some work that needs to take place outside their vicinity. For e.g. if the office is in Mumbai and the meeting is in Delhi then the boss might send an employee to Delhi to complete the particular task.

The second part of the letter is when the boss gives the employee an option that he/she can stay longer in that particular place to spend dome personal time. For e.g. if the employee goes to Delhi and has some relatives there then he/she can get done with the meeting and stay there for a bit longer and spend some time with his/her family.

In such a case, the employer intimates the employee well in advance so that he/she can make his/her arrangements to go to a particular state or country, finish his/her current tasks in their office, assign their pending work to another employee and also inform their relatives that he/she is going to come alone/with their family to visit them. The boss in this way intends to get the work done by offering a holiday break after that, as a bonus.

Dear Priya,

This letter is to inform you that there is a seminar that is being conducted and our company has been invited to that meeting. The management has asked us to send an employee from the marketing team. The meeting is going to held in Mumbai from DD/MM/YYYY to DD/MM/YYYY.

The reason why I am writing this letter to you is that I want you to attend the seminar and then stay in Mumbai for a couple of more days as your parents also reside in Mumbai. This way you will be able to attend the workshop and at the same time be able to spend some time with your parents and family as well as celebrate Diwali with them when you are in Mumbai.

You can resume work from DD/MM/YYYY, and till then Laura can handle your primary work as she knows what is to be done in your absence.

Kindly let me know if you are interested in attending the seminar and taking this opportunity of meeting your parents. It’s imperative that you get back to me as soon as possible since the meeting is close to vacation time and thus we need to make the necessary reservations for you to attend the seminar.

Thanking You,

Yours Sincerely,

Rakesh Mehra.
