A help letter can be quite a personal letter where the sender writes to request for help or some form of assistance for a task or event. The support letter can be informal, and usually, friends or family members write it but should be a bit formal if in the business environment, like between colleagues or management and employees. Asking for help is a tough task, to be true. People are hesitant while asking for help from others as they don’t know whether they will be helped or not.
A help letter can be formal or informal depending upon the relationship the person has with the receiver. It should mention the event or task for which he/she needs assistance from the receiver. Also, do mention how grateful you would be for getting that help. People should always be thanked for their generous deeds. Keep the letter concise and to the point. Once through the letter, check it for grammatical correctness.
The following is the sample of help letter.

Subject: Request for Help
How are you? I hope you are doing fine. I am writing to request your help for my upcoming concert.
I know that you are an excellent tailor and I was wondering if you could help me sew a couple of costumes for my school play. I am not good at tailoring, and I do not know any available tailors in my neighborhood. I do not have the time to run around town to seek out one as time is short. And on such short notice, I could only think of you.
I am so sorry to call for your help in such short notice; the concert is barely two months away. All of this happened so suddenly that I couldn’t ask anyone else to do it. I need two gowns for myself as I have two scenes to act out. I have the specific designs for you, and I am willing to make myself available for measurements and fittings at your convenience. I do hope that you will understand how crucial time it is for me. If you are agreeable, your efforts will be remunerated appropriately.
Please call me quickly to let me know of your decision. I look forward to a favorable response from you soon.
