A grant request letter is one that is written by an individual to any authoritative institution or person asking for financial aid or any other support. Sometimes due to many reasons, people can’t afford to build something for the society like hospitals or educational institutes. So, they ask for the same from the government so as to make the dream possible for many. A grant request letter can also be written by anyone for a reason other than building something for the society, like for running a personal errand from any other person.

A grant request letter is a formal letter written to ask for financial support. The reason behind the grant should be genuine otherwise it might not be approved. Mention the amount of grant and the purpose too. Make sure to write the letter with professionalism. Once through the letter, run a grammatical check to ensure correctness.

Subject – Grant Request Letter

Respected Sir,

Warm greetings to you from my side. I am writing you this letter to request for grant of financial aid for supporting the education of the girls of my orphanage.

You have been an active participant in providing financial help to many NGOs in the past to help unprivileged people get at least necessities. I have also read your speeches on how we should help the weaker section of the society to make them our equals; then one can achieve true development of the economy. For last one year, we have been trying to raise funds by requesting grants from the various organization. So far we have raised an amount sufficient to start with the education. However, we also need some amenities for the extracurricular activities for the students.

Educating children is the top most priority of our NGO right now. We wish to make sure that the children here do not feel that there is no one to care for them just because they are orphans. It would also help them learn new things and become something in the future. I know that you are a busy person but do take some time out of your schedule to give this request a thought. Hoping for a positive response from your side.

Thanking You

Yours Sincerely,

Rishika Biswas,

Managing Director

Ananda Girls Orphanage.
