Goodbye Farewell Letter, Sample & Format

Goodbye Farewell Letter

Often in life, we will have to bid goodbye at some point or the other to the people in our life. A student will have to say goodbye to his/ her teachers and friends once he/ she graduates or leaves the school/ college for some other reason. A professional will have to say goodbye to his/her colleague when he/ she leaves his/her job. Thus, a Goodbye Farewell Letter is written to say goodbye, express his /her feelings about leaving and thank everyone for his/ her experience. The level of formality depends on the relationship between the sender and the receiver.

The following is a Goodbye Farewell letter written by an employee who has tendered his resignation. He has written this letter to bid farewell to all his colleagues as he may not have had the time to go around saying goodbye in person. It is a semi-formal letter.

Subject: Farewell

Dear All,

I still remember my first day at Bedford as if it were yesterday. It was my first day at work and I was so scared at first. But that did not last for long. Everyone at Bedford was so kind and supportive that I fit right in. My journey of ten years has been amazing and unforgettable. I have learned so much in my time here. But now, the time has come for me to say goodbye to you all.

It has been my pleasure to have worked with each and every one of you while at Bedford Enterprise. Tomorrow will be my last day, and I do apologize that I am unable to meet each of you to say farewell. I am still clearing my work and reassigning it to others. I hope that you will excuse me for not bidding you farewell personally.

Nevertheless, you are most welcome to contact me anytime you are free after my exit from this fine company tomorrow. I shall be commencing work at another organization next year, so I am free before then.

Thank you so much for your support and trust during my ten years of work here. I wish each of you the best of success in your future undertakings.

Yours Sincerely,

Francis K. Sanchez
