Friendship Letters, Sample & Format

Introduction

Friendship letters as the name suggests are written from one friend to another. The content of the letter may vary as it varies with the different type of people writing and receiving it, but more often than not, these letters are written so that friends can catch up with each other. Due to many reasons, friends do not always reside in the same vicinity and hence contact with them can be established with the help of letters.

Handwritten letters are unique, and when one receives a handwritten letter from a friend, they cherish it. Since these letters are written between two friends, the letter should be written in an informal manner. It is written in an informal way as one can be more articulate and expressive about their feelings. Friendship letters can also be written as a reminder of the friendship and bond two people once used to share and to rekindle the long lost friendship.

Dear Rachel,

Hello, my old friend. I know that it has been long since we last saw or spoke to each other but I was reminded of you and our college years when I saw an advertisement on TV related to basketball. Hence, I decided to reach out to you.

I must first proceed to ask you how you have been. The last I heard from our mutual friend your business was going well. I was considering the idea of visiting you at work sometime soon. The advertisement took me back to our golden days in college where we would do nothing but challenge each other to basketball games and miss classes to watch a match. I have realized that I terribly miss the fun we used to have when I sit in the office to work. I must tell you that even though our contact has diminished, you have and will always be one of my best friends. You had always supported me and helped me out when I underwent difficult times, and for those very reasons, I will be eternally grateful to you.

I would love to catch up with you over a game of basketball very soon. I am always up for one of our challenges, and I am sure you would be too. I am leaving my contact details including my personal phone number and my email address. Please do not hesitate to call me or talk to me. It would be truly wonderful if you did reach out. I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours Truly,

Mark Wallaby.
