Formal Statement Letter
A formal statement letter is similar to a cover letter. Such letters are written by the potential job seekers. It is an addition to your resume which is a detailed factual paper explaining relevant qualifications and experiences about the job profile. The aim of this formal statement letter is to extend on that same resume. While resumes are factual and mostly numeric, formal statement letters allow you to explain further your achievements and how they facilitated your growth.
This letter need not pertain to how your prior work experience led to the growth of the organization you were working with, but also how it led to an over all holistic growth on the personal front. Write about how you can contribute to the current organization and hope to learn more from the work that the company is offering you. Keep it as formal as possible. Refer to the letter given below-

Respected Sir/ Ma’am
I came across your job offer in the Hindustan Times, dated DD/MM/YYYY. The job offer was a marketing manager, and I write in response to your offer.
I had a master in Marketing from London School of Economics and passed the class with the first distinction. However, my passion for marketing stems from way earlier and expands to way beyond my degree.
At age 21, I had started my own marketing company that would handle and devise the marketing strategies of various B2B as well as B2C companies. Due to this my knowledge about marketing expands to the various kinds of businesses operating in a particular field.
Over the span of one year, my single member company expanded to a ten member marketing firm. However as luck would have it, my company ran in losses once the great depression kicked in. This, however, did not take away my love for marketing. I decided to further my studies and applied to LSE.
I believe with my caliber and will to work hard in whatever project I undertake makes me a suitable candidate for this position. I have closely followed your companies marketing strategies, and I must say I am a fan. The campaign related to homosexuality was a hit and boosted your product’s branding in the market.
I believe I will be able to learn exponentially, while simultaneously contributing the growth of the firm. I look forward to hearing from you.
