Farewell To A Classmate, Sample & Format

Introduction :

Bidding farewell to anyone is one of the hardest things to do. We meet many people along the way with whom we end up having great times to be cherished forever and then to bid them farewell is a hard thing to do. A farewell letter to a classmate is a letter that reveals the feelings of a classmate to another on bidding that person farewell. Nostalgia is felt during farewell as one doesn’t know when they will meet the other person.

A farewell letter to classmate is an informal letter in which an individual pours out his heart on bidding farewell to a dear batch mate. It should mention the moments of happiness that the two have spent together and how the person is going to miss the receiver. Do promise the person of meeting up soon. Bidding farewell in person is a bit harder that’s why people prefer writing a letter. The sample and template letter mentioned here will help you get an idea of how to write one.

Subject – Bidding Adieu.

Dear Ritika,

Hello, my dearest friend. Warmest greetings to you from my side. I hope you are doing fine. It has been a while since we last met, due to the never ending exams we have given. I hope you did well.

We have spent a long time together, ten years to be precise. We have had a great journey from absolute strangers to perfect partners in crime. I still remember the first day we met, you were the new comer in my school. Sitting alone in the seat wondering whom to talk to when I had sat beside you and had immediately liked you.

However, the time that we were dreading from last one year has finally surfaced, bidding farewell that is. It would’ve been hard for me to say all these things in person that’s why I am resorting to writing a letter to you, to let you know how I feel about it. We have been friends for a long time, and I don’t think I’ll ever find a person who would understand me as much as you do. I won’t have anyone at my back and call whenever I have lots of things going on in my mind. I am going to miss you a lot wherever I go.

Things as such can’t be avoided, so I just hope that we keep in touch and the geographical distance between us does not create any distance in our hearts. Bidding farewell to you, for the time being. Keep in touch.

Love,

Rushali Goyal,
