Donation Letter For Charity, Sample & Format

Introduction:

Several big companies and celebrities are often seen looking for causes to donate. Many people have a philanthropic side to themselves, so before taking any such initiative, it becomes necessary to contact the NGO or organization you are looking to make a donation to and inform them about the same. One of the best ways to do is by writing them a letter stating who you are and what inspired you to make a donation to that particular organization itself.

Start this letter on a positive note; this can be done by congratulating them on the kind of work they are carrying out. Continue your letter in good spirit, clearly stating who you are and how much you wish to donate. Often donations are made under a name, make sure you highlight the name under which the donation is being made so that the charity can later acknowledge your efforts rightly.

Subject: Donation Letter

Respected Ma’am,

I recently came across an article about your orphanage in Hindustan Times dated DD/MM. The article covered your efforts of housing cancer struck orphans. Being an orphan is hard but having to suffer through cancer with that is horrendous. Sister Jane, I was, so awestruck and inspired by your work of giving these children a home and looking after them as if they are your own.

I brought this up with the CEO of my company, and we have come to a conclusion, that as a part of our corporate social responsibility initiative of our business, we would like to assist your orphanage in it’s doing. We would like to start off by making a donation of INR 10 Lakh under the name of ‘Karan Sahani.’ We would like to make many such contributions in the future as well, which is why we would like to schedule a meeting with you to discuss the needs and demands of the orphanage and accordingly make further donations.

We could schedule a meeting at your convenience. The CEO, Chiran Sahani would also like to meet the children over a Sunday lunch which we would be more than happy to organize.

Your endeavor has inspired us all to be better humans. We wish to be with you at every step of the way and help you out in whichever way we can. Please do contact the undersigned so that we can discuss this further and at length over the phone.

Yours Sincerely

Tanisha Singh
