A copyright permission letter is a letter written by an individual who wishes to obtain copyright of a particular product from another person who already has it. Copyright is done to protect the originality of the product, i.e., the one who has invented/created/introduced the product should get the due credit of the same, and no one can claim or use the product without their consent.

A copyright permission letter is a formal letter written by an individual to a firm or company that holds the copyright of the product he/she wants to acquire. It must state the reason behind his/her interest in buying the copyrights of the product. After acquiring the copyrights, one can sell the product as and when they please. Subject – Copyright Permission.

Respected Subhas,

Warm greetings to you from our side. I am writing you this letter with the hope of gaining the permission of using your short film ‘Woman’ under my copyright, i.e., to buy your copyrights. I wish to present it as a movie to the public so that more and more people can watch it.

I recently watched your short film on feminism, and I must say that I was highly impressed. The way you portrayed what the women of our country are facing today and how everyone has misunderstood feminism was perfectly done. Using the components of humor and wit to teach everyone what exactly the word ‘feminism’ stood for, you have made me your fan. However, as you know, still an enormous amount of population of our country can’t afford internet facility and this being one of the must watch short films, I wish to present it to a huge number of the audience by converting the idea of this short film into a movie script. I assume your only wish while directing this short film must be that people are aware of the issue. I too want the same for the population that can’t afford internet facility or doesn’t know how to use it still.

I hope you will take my request into consideration and grant me permission for the same. Looking forward to your positive reply.

Yours sincerely,

Meenakshi Chopra,
