Condolence Letter To Boss, Sample & Format

Introduction :

A condolence letter to the boss is a letter written by an employee to his superior to console over something bad that has happened to them. Normally, an employee interacts with a boss only as a subordinate i.e., does his job as and when he/she is asked. However, during times of difficulty, one should always console a person if they know him/her.

A condolence letter must always be written informally so that the person to whom it is written can connect with the sender. It has to be written with extreme sensitivity as one doesn’t think straight when they are sad or phasing a difficult time in their life. Few words of encouragement and firm belief in the person can do wonders and bring back life in them. Try to be empathetic with the receiver in your letter.

Subject – Condolences to you & family.

Respected sir,

I am writing this letter to you to express my grief over the sudden death of your mother. She was one of the board members of our company and was one of the very enthusiastic persons I have had the opportunity to meet. Her untimely death is something that is hard to accept.

You have been a pillar of support and the best guide anyone can ever have. Whenever I was stuck at any of the work or project assigned by the company, you have always helped me to get through it. Now during these times of difficulty, I offer my heartfelt condolences to you and your family and wish that you overcome this as soon as possible. Though I know we can never completely overcome the death of our loved ones; still, I wish that you will make peace with it.

You have always helped me come through any difficult situation. I hope that I too could be of some help to you. Don’t hesitate in placing me a call if you ever wish to for we are friends first and boss-employee later. I wish to visit you soon. Hopefully, by the end of this week as its time when the family wants to be together.

Once again, I hope you overcome this state of sadness and grief.

Yours Sincerely,

Manish Dixit,
