Community Service letter, Sample & Format

Community Service letter

A Community Service letter is written to request for assistance in some task that benefits the community or the most needful group of people in the neighborhood. It could be a charitable organization, city hall or church authority that makes this request for certain individuals or companies to participate in the act of kindness. A community service task is usually organized by the government or a private association in a particular area. The letter may also be written by a religious organization to request help for a social drive.

A community service letter is usually a request letter for volunteers from the community to lend their time and effort to further a cause that is important to that community. The letter is written in a formal manner. Since it is being written to many people, the letter is also written as a generic format, so that every body gets the same invite. The letter must be written in a concise manner. The letter must include information regarding venue and timings of the community service and the number of volunteers required. The letter must mention the duration of the community service.

Subject: Community Service Participation Invite

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing on behalf of First Church of Jesus to request for your kind participation in cleaning up Lansing this DD/MM/YYYY, given the upcoming Independence Day. The river is extremely contaminated and it brings bad repute to our community and also creates great nuisance in the maintenance of adequate healthcare in the community. The Church will be pleased to welcome its members to take part in this service as an offering to God.

It would be a great pleasure to have you and your staff as part of this community to join efforts in sprucing up our community in preparation for a grand celebration on DD/MM/YYYY. We also issue certificates of appreciation to all the participants in the event, to express our appreciation and gratitude.

Let each citizen of America and especially Lansing residents be proud to be part of this great nation and community which we are proud to call home.

I firmly believe that community service is an equalizer and ensures that the community is knit together at times of distress and despair. This service will bind us together more closely and help us achieve a better and more inclusive community.

We are inviting the whole community, young or old, in this community service. Kindly register your names at the First Church of Jesus before DD/MM/YYYY, for a confirmation of participation.

We, the community of Lansing, are proud to be associated with you, especially in this joint effort. I wish you God’s blessing in health and business.

In His Service,

Rev. Peter Samson,

The United States of America.
