Church Resignation Letter, Sample & Format
A church resignation letter is written by a full-time church worker to inform the church authority of his or her intention to resign from employment at the church. It could be an administrative position, or it could be a pastoral position that one could resign from, as the church functions similarly to an organization. Hence the letter is analogous to any other resignation letter. Thus it is a highly formal letter with a rather serious tone.
You can organize the letter appropriately into three paragraphs, comprising of an introduction, the main body, and a conclusion. In the introduction, state the reason for your writing the letter. Then go on to elaborate this, i.e., the reason why you wish to resign, in your next paragraph. Be polite while stating your reasons. You can conclude the letter by thanking the Church officials for all the support they have given you over the years

Subject: Resignation Letter
I hope this letter finds you in the best of spirits.
I am writing this letter to inform you that I would like to resign from my job as Choir Conductor for Church of Glory as of January 30, 2017.
I have been experiencing various health issues lately, I am finding it very difficult to complete my daily duties, especially during the winter due to bad weather conditions. I do apologize for the short notice, but after some time in prayer and consultation with my family, I believe this is the best decision to take.
The past 10 years, with this Church, has been a truly eye-opening experience for me. This experience has only cemented my faith in Jesus and has also helped me to spread the love and joy further.
I truly regret having to go but I am afraid God has other things ordained for me. I am aware that finding a replacement for Church Choir Conductor at such a short notice can be an arduous task. Hence I have asked my nephew, John Peters to take over my job on a temporary basis until the Church can officially find a replacement for me.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve the church in this capacity for the last 10 years.
God bless you for your kind understanding of my situation.
