Christian Condolence Letter, Sample & Format

Introduction

Condolence is the expression of sympathy; it is the feelings and perception to understand things and react to it accordingly. Condolence shows that the person is sorry for the trouble and misfortune caused to the other person.

Death is a natural and spiritual event. Writing a condolence letter of death may not sound good, but sometimes a letter does it all. It expresses the feelings of the sender, and the word tries to soothe and heal the pain of the receiver. A Christian condolence letter may be a formal or an informal letter depending upon the relationship between the sender and the recipient. The letter should be written in such a way as to give moral support to the recipient. Have a look at the sample piece of this letter to get an idea of writing it on your own when needed.

Dearest Hazel,

It was heartbreaking to hear the news of the demise of grandpa. He was one of those genuine and sweetest souls on this earth I have ever known, a best friend who accompanied and guided us everywhere and never let us go down in any circumstances. He always made me feel a part of your family. I know he was the only one you had in your life. The loss of grandpa is irreparable.

This may sound rude to you, but the one who is born has to go someday. This is the fact of one’s life and the phase everyone has to face. So it’s better to accept this. Be happy that he passed peacefully without any pain and suffering just as he had wished. Recall and cherish those happy moments spent with him. I do understand that words cannot heal the pain and loss from which you are going through right now, but believe me, time is the best healer and an invisible medicine.
Remember Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

No matter what happens, I will always be there for you, and you will always be in my prayers. I know God will always look upon you, he is the only salvation.
I will meet you soon. Please eat well, sleep well and take good care of yourself.

Love
Jenny.
