Character Recommendation Letter, Sample & Format
A character recommendation letter is usually written by an individual of higher position or standing on the character of another individual. A character recommended letter contains information about the individual who is given a recommendation for some reason such as job application or further studies, where the relationship between the recommender and the recommended is first stated. It is a formal letter since you don’t know the receiver personally. It is done usually at the behest of the person being recommended.
Keep the letter formal and maintain a balanced tone. Don’t be forceful upon the receiver but calmly explain to them the character of the person. It can be written by a boss for his/ her former employee or a school for his/ her former student after they leave the school or office. Do not make any type of false claims which could be harmful to your credibility and won’t benefit anyone.

Subject: Character Recommendation for Ms. Lily Jones
Dear Sir / Madam,
I am writing to recommend Ms. Lily Jones to be considered for the post of Senior Sales Promoter in your esteemed organization in Los Angeles.
Ms. Jones has been in my employment for the past two years as a Sales Executive, after having come out of graduate school. She is a hardworking employee who is quick on the job and picks up information well. She is honest and careful in her responsibilities and dealings with all her customers and peers. She is a team worker and brings together people so that the work is done properly.
Ms. Jones is willing to work late whenever she has to and has been a tremendous help in some of the promotional road shows organized by the company. It is my pleasure to give Ms. Jones a character recommendation to your esteemed company as she loves to read. She is a voracious reader and is interested in joining your company. It would be her cup of tea to be involved in your company.
I trust that the above information will put Ms. Lily Jones in your good light for a kind consideration of her character to your available postings. I hope she will make you proud and I am sure you won’t regret it.
