Balance confirmation letter



A balance confirmation letter can be written by an individual who wishes to confirm the balance of his bank account or his leave in a company. If it is the former, the person is requesting an update of his bank account balance while the latter refers to the employee’s request to know how many days of leave is left for his taking. The balance confirmation letter is used to enquire the current balance that the account holder has in his/her account. The letter also serves as proof of fraud and deception.

The letter is written by an authorized account holder to the bank or vice versa. Therefore, the writer of the letter must provide proper authorization that ensures that the information is being submitted to the authorized person only. The letter must be concise. The letter must request the balance in the account by the date that the writer requires. The letter must be written as a request letter and must be used to confirm the balance.

Subject: Bank Account Balance Request

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to request your kind confirmation of my bank account balance. I am overseas at the moment and do not have easy access to my bank account. I shall be out of the country until the end of MM/YYYY; hence, I would like to be updated on my bank account balance to avoid an overdraft. This will also assist in my visa applications.

My bank account is a joint personal account with a Mr. Larry Heifer. My account number is JU920-2039-33. I would appreciate a prompt response to this request as I intend to cash out from my account at the end of this month.

The confirmation will be very helpful in assessing a series of financial decisions that I will have to make before the end of this financial year. Therefore, kindly consider this request as an urgency. I wish to receive the confirmation within three working days.

I also want to update my details, as my residential address has changed. The balance report has been mailed to my old residential address. Please issue me a form for change of particulars, so that the balance report is always updated.
