Announcement Of New Working Time

For any structured organization, be it a professional workplace or an educational institution, there exists some decorum to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization. This is done by enforcing proper timings that defined the working hours of the organization.

These working hours mention the timings for not only the start of the day and the end of the day but also the number of the days in a week that the employee is expected to work. So in case, the organization wishes to make a change in these timings, it becomes their duty to inform all people of the organization beforehand. This should be conveyed in such a way that it does not disrupt anybody’s working hours. The sample announcement letter given below discusses the change in timings in the working of an educational institution. Subject: Change in working hours

To whomsoever, it may concern,

As you all are aware, since the inception of Kamala Nehru, the college has always had six working days in the week. This includes Saturdays as well. The timings of these work days are from 8 am to 2 pm for all six days. However, this rule was applicable only for the students.

The admin office and library had an off on Saturdays while all permanent teachers had only five days working. Given the recent grievances put forth by all students (mentioned below) and thorough discussion with the entire staff of the Kamala Nehru, the college has decided to officially make Saturdays a holiday.

Reasons are:

  1. Long gaps in between classes.
  2. Low attendance on Saturdays.
  3. Outstation students don’t get to visit family due to working Saturdays.
  4. Not enough free time to complete projects.
Keeping all this in mind, the administration felt it was only fair to give the students an off on Saturdays as well. However, to compensate for one less working day, the working hours have to be increased.

The timing of the college will be changed from 8 am to 3 30 pm. Given that the gap hours between classes have been reduced, we expect higher attendance from all teachers. We hope you all use this day off productively and to your advantage.

The new timetable will be handed out soon.

Thank you
